New Ultrasound-Guided Management of Pediatric Intussusception at JFK Medical Center: Saving Lives with Advanced Care
We are proud to announce the introduction of a new, non-surgical treatment for children suffering from intussusception a life-threatening condition in which part of the intestine slides into another section, causing severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and bloody stool.

The Radiology Department at JFK Medical Center now provides Ultrasound-Guided Hydrostatic Reduction (USGHR) a safe, gentle, and effective procedure that uses warm saline under real-time ultrasound guidance to successfully treat intussusception without the need for surgery.
This innovative treatment is:

Non-invasive
No anesthesia required
Quick recovery time
performed by highly trained specialists
This service is now available at JFK Medical Center through the dedication and collaboration of our Pediatrics, Surgery, and Radiology teams.

Early diagnosis and timely treatment save lives. If your child experiences sudden abdominal pain, vomiting, or bloody stool, seek medical care immediately. Our team is ready to provide expert and compassionate care.
Let’s spread the word and protect the lives of our children together.
