President Boakai Donates Essential Items to Newborns at Liberia-Japanese Friendship Maternity Center

Today, His Excellency Joseph Nyumah Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare for newborns by donating essential items to the Liberia-Japanese Friendship Maternity Center. The donation ceremony, held on Thursday, was marked by the President’s dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure in collaboration with the John F Kennedy Medical Center.

Dr. Linda Birch, Chief Executive Officer of the John F Kennedy Medical Center, graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the hospital. She expressed her appreciation for President Boakai’s support and affirmed the medical center’s commitment to leveraging these resources to benefit newborns and their families.

During the visit, President Boakai, accompanied by the First Lady of Liberia, commended the dedication of the medical center’s staff and expressed his optimism about future collaborations to further improve healthcare delivery. He also toured the hospital’s VIP suites on the fourth floor, where he noted the modern facilities and expressed anticipation for future visits to witness ongoing developments firsthand.
