Monrovia, Liberia – A group of students from God’s Children Elementary School (AGC) made a heartwarming gesture today, Thursday, by donating Christmas gifts to children admitted to the Pediatric Ward of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC).

The group of young philanthropists, aged between seven and twelve, demonstrated the true spirit of the holiday season by sacrificing their recess money to bring joy to others. Leading this noble effort was Loleyal Dorluy, a Grade Four student and queen of AGC, who spearheaded the initiative.

“I thought about the sick children in the hospital and shared my idea with my classmates and other school friends. Together, we decided to use our recess money to buy Christmas gifts,” said Loleyal, reflecting on her motivation to start the project.

During the presentation ceremony, held in the conference room of JFKMC’s administration, the students met with Dr. Emmanuel Tamba, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the hospital. Dr. Tamba expressed deep appreciation for the students’ act of kindness. “It’s time to realize that even a small act of giving can change someone’s life. The blessings of abundance go to those who give with a benevolent heart,” he remarked, encouraging others to follow the example set by the children.

This meaningful gesture not only brightened the day for pediatric patients but also served as a reminder of the importance of community and compassion, especially during the holiday season. The students of AGC have set a commendable example of how the spirit of giving can start at any age.
