The First Lady of the Republic of Liberia visited the Maternity Hospital at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center today.
Madam Kartumu Yarta Boakai delivered 100 bags of rice, ten cartons of fish, and care packages for the mothers of newborn babies.
The First Lady presented the items to the CEO of JFK, Dr. Linda A. Birch, and her team.
Speaking on behalf of the President of Liberia, H.E. Joseph N. Boakai, she said the gifts were a gesture of support for the mothers and their babies. She thanked God that everyone is alive to witness Liberia celebrate 178 years of independence.
On behalf of the Medical Center, Dr. Linda A. Birch expressed gratitude to the First Lady and President Boakai for identifying with the mothers and supporting them during this special time.
